Art at Heritage is a varied and fun experience.  Try your hand at both 2-D and 3-D materials, learn about artists both old and new, and express your creativity!​

What are you going to learn when you come to art class?

In addition to learning skills such as shading, drawing, clay techniques, and how to create wire sculptures, you'll also become aware of some of the follwoing things:

 

1. Art is all around you!  It's not just a class you take, or stacks of paintings in an old museum.  We want you to learn to see the artistic influence in the world you live in. 

 

2. Art can be for everyone!  It's not just for those who have been able to draw and paint since birth.  Everyone can express themselves in a creative manner, its just about finding which creative avenue is best for you.

 

3.  Art can be a great way to express your thoughts and feelings.  Artists throughout time have reacted to political and personal events through their paintings and sculptures.  Check out the artist below who did just that.

 

 

 

 

 

 

4. Your love of art can lead to a lasting career! Skilled artists and designers worked on each of the things you use each day, even your toothbrush! They also work on advertising, films, and video games.  Art careers don't have to mean you are simply good at drawing, but rather that you are a creative, thoughtful individual.
